Horror of horrors! See Sotomayor's Anti-Gay Violence Letter
Back in 1976 eight students ransacked the dorm room of two gay students who were members of the Gay Alliance of Princeton. Then student Sonia Sotomayor was one of those who signed a letter condemning the act of hatred.
The letter stated in part: "No matter how much one may disagree with the Gay Alliance or the policies they are advocating, no matter how repugnant one may find homosexuality, the manner of expressing this opposition should be intellectual. At this university we are dedicated to persuasion by reason, not by brute force."

I think you missed the mark with this one: Brody simply presented the letter (in its entirety) in a totally neutral manner. The CBN may be the network for, by and of the far-right wing-nuts, but this is not an example to cite to support your thesis.
For another view of the nuanced writing of Brody, check out the preceding item on the CBN website, in which he discusses Obama's speech in Cairo pretty reasonably.
Remember this lesson: If they write something really crazy or really bad, call the public's attention to it. If they are simply stating facts, or -- incredible as it may seem -- are saying something reasonable, don't ding 'em for it. Otherwise, it is YOU who will not be taken seriously.
