How Mary and Fred handled the gay question

T WAS a case of "we are very amused" for Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik when they received a curly question from a schoolboy.

The Danish Royal couple were visiting Stykkisholmur elementary school last week as part of a tour of Iceland when the cheeky chap asked the Crown Prince whether he had "gay tendencies", resulting in an eruption of laughter from the couple and their entourage.

The trip may have resulted in red faces for the teachers but there were no royal blushes as Mary and Frederik continued to giggle as they left.

The couple, have two children, Isabella, 13 months, and Christian, 2.

Before marrying, Frederik was known for his love of glamorous, high profile women. Former flames include lingerie model Katja Storkholm Nielsen, pop singer Maria Montell and fashion designer Bettina Oedum.
