Bid to reverse ban on gay donors in Scotland
MSPs have been told that allowing gay and bisexual men to give blood in other countries has led to a drop in HIV cases contracted from donors. Campaigners have appeared before Holyrood's petitions committee calling for the "blanket ban" on this group to be lifted in Scotland. Rob McDowall said potential donors should be assessed on the basis of their individual behaviour.
